Urgent: Clergy Vaccine Update

Hello Faith Leaders,

The Frontline worker definition for COVID-19 vaccines now includes religious organizations.

  • Frontline workers are individuals who have a job that puts the individual at higher risk for contracting COVID-19 because of:
  • Regular close contact with others outside of their household (less than six feet); and
  • Routine (more than 15 minutes per person(s)) close contact with others outside of their household; and
  • They cannot perform their job duties from home or another setting that limits the close or routine contact with others outside of their household.

Individuals (paid or unpaid) who have a role that meets this criteria will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine beginning Monday, April 5th.

How to find a COVID-19 Vaccine

Are you willing to share your story?

OHA is looking for clergy who may be willing to be photographed and share their story about their decision to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Are you interested in broadly sharing your story? Please email me at faith.liaison@dhsoha.state.or.us.
  • Also, don’t forget to share your decision to be vaccinated and encourage others to do so as well on your own social media channels!

Faith Based Vaccine One-Pagers

We are excited to share three new one-pagers specific to Christian, Jewish and Muslim faith traditions answering common faith-related vaccine questions.

You can find these documents translated into additional languages here under the “Toolkits for Faith Communities” section.

Would you like some printed copies or do you need one of these in an additional language? Send an email to faith.liaison@dhsoha.state.or.us.

If there is anything I can do to help answer questions or connect you to resources, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

In Partnership,

Maria Waters
